How to check and fix sync by hand
After sync MultiSyncer Studio shows which clips landed by sound, which by file time and where to take a look. A/B listening lets you check by ear, and a clip's position can be adjusted by nudging it a frame, locking it, or with “Sync to…”.
1. Look at the result
After “Synchronize” the “Synchronization complete” panel appears on the right. It shows how many clips landed:
- By sound;
- Continued recording: the next file of the same recording;
- By file time: no shared sound or the clip is too short, accurate to about a second;
- Warnings and Needs review.
“Different recording speed” shows the drift of the devices, for example “Recorder: 40 ppm, 96 ms by the end”. “Show on timeline” highlights the clips worth checking. “Save report” records where every clip landed and how confident the app is. “Undo synchronization” brings back the previous layout.

2. Look at the confidence
| Confidence | What it means |
|---|---|
| From 90 % | Reliable |
| 60–90 % | Probably right; worth a listen (the A/B button) |
| Below 60 % | Check by hand |
This is how sure the app is that the clip sits in the right place by sound. It is shown for every clip.
3. Listen A/B
A clip has “Listen A/B against the reference”: A is the clip itself, B is the track it is synced to, A+B is both together. If the sync is off you hear an echo or doubling; if it sounds like one source, it lines up.
Space plays the timeline with the sound of every track. The S and M buttons on a track are Solo and Mute, so you hear only what you need.
4. Adjust the clip's position
| What | How it works |
|---|---|
| Nudge | Buttons −10, −1, +1, +10 frames |
| Lock position | The clip is locked relative to the reference and no longer moves; “Unlock” undoes it |
| Sync to… | Sync the clip to another clip you choose |
| Drag to a track | A clip can be dragged to another track or onto “+ Add camera” |
| The ▾ menu on a track | Rename, merge with another, split into several cameras, the track's files |
5. Look at the log
The sync log records every clip's offset in milliseconds, samples and frames. For a clip placed by file time it says that it is not confirmed by sound and is accurate to about a second. In the sequence such clips have a red label, and on export they can go into a separate block: “Clips not confirmed by sound”.
